Yep. But then again, there wasn't really much a Christian could do if he was targeted by the Roman government for extermination. They did what they could and hid, practicing their faith. What can a Christian do if his church is raided by Romans and he and his friends are tied to a stake to be burnt? How do we know many of them did not struggle or try to free themselves? We conjure this picture of martyrs calmly tied to a stake quoting verses as they perish by flames, but was this common? What about the Christians that were thrown into the arena to be killed by gladiators and wild animals; did they just roll over and accept death? I do not think so, nor do I think that to resist death takes away their crown of martyrdom. A man is a martyr if he is killed for his faith, and many people can die in a struggle for life without ever recounting their faith. Jesus allowed the authorities to take him for crucifixion because it was his time. There are places in the Bible where Jesus does prevent those who would strike out against him from doing so because it wasn’t his time.

Jesus being God knew about the terrorist record
of the Romans, including the massacres of all Jewish children under the age of two under King Herod who reported directly to the Roman terrorists and Jesus even mentioned the massacres by Pontius Pilate, the complete destruction of the Jerusalem temple by the terrorist Romans and Jesus knew about the eventual destruction of Israel by the Romans and yet not once did Jesus criticize the terrorist Romans and in fact told the Jews to pay taxes to the terrorist Romans who in turn used those very taxes to enslave the Jewish people..........so why did Jesus not even criticize the terrorist Romans ? |

Could it be because Jesus was only
interested in the salvation of the soul and not interested in liberating anybody from political oppression ? and if so, why was Jesus only interested in the salvation of the soul and not interested in the political well being of the individual ? |
