Yes, no matter how greusome the scenario, salvation is more important than political freedom..
So if Salvation is more important than political freedom, is that why Jesus was trying to free the souls of men rather than freeing them from Rome ?

After all, what is political freedom? The right to do a certain thing or to say a certain thing? Yet we have this right, given by God, which no man can take away..
So are you saying that a man who dissents against a tyrant and is thrown into prison is still free in Christ because he is a christian and another man can be politically free and indulging in wine, women and song and yet not be free because he is in bondage to his sins ?

Political oppression cannot take away our freedom, it can only apply punishments to our actions, which are themselves still free..
So your saying that freedom in Christ is everything and political freedom is nice but not necessary ?

If you are truly committed to acting freely, such punishments should have no effect on you, and indeed even death should be no deterrent, for if it is, then are merely its slave.
So your saying that Jesus was saying not to resist tyranny but to free oneself through Jesus Christ because the freedom of the soul cannot be bound by chains or even death at the hands of the tyrant ?
