Used to, mainline Protestant ministers/pastors were among the most broadly educated and widely read members of a community. Nowadays, it's hard to find many who have basic knowledge of economics or history. Why is that? Have the radicals from the 1960's, with their narrow views of social justice and Biblical injunctions, taken over the academy and well as the pulpit?
