Jackson, why is it you decided to apply to a single program??? You have me thinking that the others are dubitable and not worth applying to. Please clarify as I'm in the process of scouting programs out! Thanks.

Tatyana, none of the other programs met my standards. I probably would have been less stringent if I didn't already have a law degree, and thus something to fall back to. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, Jackson. I have a question for you (which I imagine you're qualified to answer!). I did a BA & MA in systematic theology. I have no background in IR or PoliSci. Do you think a PhD in political philosophy (theory) for someone like me is out of his/her league? The exposure I've had to political philosophy is through my professor of moral theology (I had him for 4 classes). His mentor was Fr. Ernest Fortin, who was friends with Strauss and with Bloom. I also have a minor in philosophy. I am concerned that I do not have the adequate background needed for a PhD in political philosophy. Many thanks.

Tatyana, I think with your background, especially the minor in phil., that you'd be able to do it. Here at UD the required courses are extensive and would, I think, more than adequately prepare you. Good luck.
