Well, for one, I'm a graduate, but not in Politics. Two, I spoke to the dean earlier this year (April), and he noted that there was no difference between now and when I graduated--everyone who wanted a job had one. I don't know what the average and/or expected GRE score is in Politics. Best of luck, and I do hope that you apply in February.

Thanks. I most definitely will apply. The more I look into the UD program, the more I like it. Any further advice will be welcome.

University of Dallas has the best phd program! I do not have a phd in politics, but I do have two masters degrees, English and Humanities from UD. The humanities core for the phd program is unique as it is not offered any where else! And you will have an amazing community who help each other rather than compete with one another. The teachers are incredibly humble, brillant, and pursuers of the truth. If you would like to be happy in graduate school, pursue truth through the different discplines of the liberal arts tradition and have a truly Catholic environment (my good friend in the ND phd program lost her faith bc of the relativistic, nihilistic professors and classmates, many were atheists!)choose UD. As far as I know all of my phd ud friends have jobs working at Hillsdale, Christendom, Prep high schools, UD, etc. I can not say enough about the program. I am a public high school teacher and spend my life in the trenches trying to spread the liberal arts education to who ever will listen and is open to true education.
