In the past I have cross referenced the professors mentioned in ISI's College guide with the Teaching Company's list of instructors. These lists overlap to some degree. I found it a great place to start.

I discovered many of The Teaching Company's "great courses" available at my local library in both audio and video versions. I highly recommend them!

I'd use caution with The Teaching Company, particularly with any course involving Christianity. In recent years I've noticed an increasingly leftward tilt. For example, they hired the heretic Bart Ehrman to teach several courses on the Bible. Moreover, Luke Timothy Johnson roots his Jesus and the Gospels course in the historico-critical method. Among other annoyances, he constantly says things like "Mark puts these words in Jesus's mouth...."

Jackson -- I also noticed that when I initially discovered them and was turned off. However, it appears at a closer inspection that Christian is the only area where this is true. In general it seems that most of their other courses are center-right. In fact their emphasis on the classics is itself a conservative concept.
