Liberation theology now survives in a new form that focuses on racial differences, Rev. Wright's "black liberation theology" is the pre-eminent example. You will also hear the same thing in Latino congregations and so on. Marxism in general has morphed from highlighting economic difference to Foucalt's differences in power

I think I read in Ratzinger's book Truth & Tolerance that Marxism is an inversion of the golden rule that we are to love our fellow Man except that the Marxist error is that Man is God and freedom, a simple matter of political will. We see this also in Chavez who recently decreed that the clock in Venuzuela should be moved back 1/2 hour to improve the mood of his country.
