Ran across this wonderful interview with the Genoveses today. It was conducted by Scott Walter and Bill Kauffman and first appeared in the American Enterprise (remember how good that magazine was for a while?) in 1996 but has aged well--indeed, is prescient. And it gives great insight into the unique social/political positions that the Genoveses had forged for themselves by that time.
In the "most intellectually interesting couples" of the 1990s rankings, I do believe that the Genoveses would rank slightly higher than Carville/Matalin.
