Betsey mas much more to say about marriage than simply defending its inherent one-man-one-woman nature. Her book essentially grounds marriage's disintegration in its (romantic) privatization and is informed by wide historical learning. Defenders of traditional marriage would, in my opinion, be wise to learn from her broader approach to this issue; our concept of rights is a big part of the problem.
