Hi!

I am wondering if you had on hand a list of the universities and colleges which currently run a Great Books programme? I started looking myself, but with different schools calling them different names--some as honours programmes, some as majors, some as additional programmes--it would end up being quite the project. So, I thought "Who would know...?" and figured you might. Smiler So, if you could help me locate the universities which have Great Books programmes, that would be swell.

Thanks!

Hi,

Here's a partial list:

St. John's College (Annapolis, MD and Santa Fe, NM)
Shimer College (Chicago, IL)
Thomas Aquinas College (Santa Paula, CA)
Gutenberg College (Eugene, OR)

All of these (except Gutenberg College) can be found with detailed descriptions in All American Colleges.

Good Luck!

Here's a site with a list of schools with "Great Books" programs of various types. I've looked at most of them, and they vary from "bona fide" (St. John's College, Thomas Aquinas College) to curricular "cores" (varies).

Hope this is helpful.

Best wishes!
