The Oxford Centre for Evangelism and Apologetics Business Conference Fairview Park Marriott Hotel, Falls Church Virginia
Friday 28th April – Sunday 30th April 2006 Take some time out to recapture your vision for the workplace.This is a weekend to transform your approach to business with an intellectually stretching teaching programme and a spiritually refreshing focus on vocation for the world of work. Speakers include: Revd Thomas Tarrants Tom Tarrants is President of the C.S. Lewis Institute, based in Washington, D.C. He was previously co-pastor of Christ Our Shepherd Church in Washington, D.C. and earlier served as a university chaplain. Tom directs the C.S. Lewis Institute Fellows Program and lectures in practical theology, with a special focus on biblical discipleship and spiritual formation/mentoring. He attended the University of Mississippi and then went on to seminary, graduating with a Masters of Divinity degree. This year he will complete requirements for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Christian Spirituality at Fuller Theological Seminary. Prior to 1970, Tom was deeply involved in terrorist activities, for which he spent eight years in prison. While reading the Gospels in prison, he experienced a life-changing conversion to Jesus Christ. He is the author of The Conversion of a Klansman and is co-author, with Dr John Perkins, of He’s My Brother. Dr Arthur W. Lindsley, Ph.D. Art Lindsley has served at the C.S. Lewis Institute since 1987. Formerly, he was Director of Educational Ministries at the Ligonier Valley Study Center, and Staff Specialist with the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is co-author of the book Classical Apologetics along with R.C. Sproul and John Gerstner and has also authored numerous articles on theology, apologetics, C.S. Lewis, and the lives and works of many other authors and teachers. A new book with the working title True Truth is due out in Spring 2003. Art earned his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr Krish Kandiah Krish Kandiah is Tutor in Mission and Evangelism at Wycliffe Hall and also works as evangelist for the Oxford Centre for Evangelism and Apologetics. He has worked with students in the UK with Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship, and in Albania with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, before becoming pastor of a multi-cultural church in Harrow. He is a regular speaker at university missions, and has wide experience in evangelism. He received a distinction for his Masters at Birmingham University and earned his doctorate from King’s College, London in the theology of evangelism, an interest he is passionate about alongside helping students to relate relevantly and faithfully to contemporary culture. Bruce Beard Bruce is a financial consultant, pension expert, and owner of several companies including financial services, pension administration, and money management, as well as manufacturing, real estate, and oil and gas. An active speaker, teacher, and witness for Christ in the business community, he is a strong proponent of empowering lay people to be active ambassadors for Christ. Bruce currently serves on the board of Zacharias Trust (RZIM), who along with Wycliffe Hall are sponsors of the Oxford Centre for Evangelism and Apologetics of which he is a graduate. The cost for the conference is $395 including accommodation and meals, from Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast. |
