The Leadership Institute, a non-profit organization based in Arlington, VA is in the process of hiring spring field reps for the Campus Leadership Program. A job description is below.
JOB OPENING The Leadership Institute's Campus Leadership Program Spring Field Representative Job Duties: Field Representatives (Field Reps.) identify, recruit, and train conservative college students. Field Reps. help to organize Leadership Institute (LI) schools, new college clubs, new student papers, and activist work on university campuses in their assigned region for a twelve week period from mid-January to mid-April. Field Reps. will strongly emphasize the need for the Campus Leadership Program groups to regularly run membership tables, conduct a thorough campus canvass, run special projects (as defined in the CLP 101 Activism Packet), and turn out members for activities. Field Representatives are to maintain contact with each of the independent groups throughout spring to ensure that each group makes progress. Time Commitment: The Field Program runs for 12 weeks total from mid-January through mid-April. Field Reps are required to be in their assigned state and ready to begin operations on the first day of the field program. During this time, Field Representatives are expected to be working full-time, including as many evenings and weekends as necessary to complete all assigned tasks. Compensation: Field Reps. are paid for: 1) organizing a new active independent conservative club. 2) recruiting forty students to a Youth Leadership School. 3) organizing an event with a CLP group. Salary Range: $3,000 - $5,000 for the twelve week period + a laptop + expenses reimbursed. Laptop Computer- All new Field Reps. will receive a new lap top computer. This computer has an approximate value of $1,200. This computer is to be used while in the Field. Field Rep's may keep the laptop upon successful completion of the program as part of the compensation package. Food Stipend- A food subsidy of one thousand dollars will be included in the compensation package. Expense Reimbursements: Lodging, travel, cell phone, and recruitment expenses will all be reimbursed. Training: Comprehensive training will be provided to the new Field Reps. before the twelve weeks begin. Additionally, a debriefing session will be conducted immediately following the spring program. Both of those sessions are paid for by LI. Required Skills A car that the Field Rep can use to travel around their assigned region of the country. Good interpersonal skills. Experience in leading a college group. A cell phone that won't be "roaming" in the Field Rep's assigned region of the country. Nice To Have Skills Good sales skills are a big plus.
