COLORADO COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION 225 East 16th Avenue, Suite 350 * Denver, Colorado 80203 * 303-832-8480 * 303-832-8474 fax * www.ccee.net JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Development and Program Associate Posted Date: February 3, 2006 Deadline: Applications will be considered as received Schedule: 40 hrs/wk (Full Time) Reports to: CCEE President, with secondary reporting to Program Director Compensation: Begins at $35,000 (see below) Position Summary The primary functions of the Development and Program Associate are in three areas: development; special events; and education program administration. The development function is the primary focus of this position and includes some planning and writing as well as general administration of CCEE’s various fundraising initiatives. Major Functions of Position Development • Primary responsibility for management and maintenance of CCEE’s contributor database as well as the preparation of specialized/custom reports derived from database (MS Access proficiency highly desirable). Responsible for the maintenance of all contributor records. • This position involves substantial office-type duties, including data entry and document preparation as well as other general tasks. Word processing of documents including: grant proposals, fund raising letters to contributors, and reports to foundations. • Research and analysis of foundation grant guidelines. Tracking of grant proposal and reporting requirements. • Grant proposal production and administration, in consultation with the President and Program Director. This responsibility includes some original writing. • Staff support for the Fundraising Committee of the Board of Directors. Also assists the President with board communications and administration of other board committees. • Works with the President and board members to identify new potential individual donors as well as follow-up to all fundraising initiatives. Education Program • Assists Program Director with a variety of education program functions, including preparation of materials and making all arrangements for teacher education programs • Assists with education programs marketing, including design of promotions and flyers • Attends education classes as necessary. This position includes occasional Saturday and evening work responsibilities scheduled in advance. • Preparation and updating of various program lists and reports Events • Coordinates and implements all aspects of CCEE’s various special events including the annual donor luncheon, public lecture events, and other smaller events. Works with the President, Program Director and Board Events Committee in planning, promotion and presentation of events throughout the year. Qualifications • A working knowledge of MS Access, including the following: generating reports from tables and queries; creating queries (i.e., applying filters and conditions); importing/exporting of data; mail merges via MS Word; data entry and record-keeping. Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or Microsoft SQL server. • Strong word processing skills (MS Word) and demonstrated writing skills. • Proficiency with the following: MS Excel; MS Outlook, MS Powerpoint. • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and collaboratively with staff, directors and donors. • A positive attitude and flexible work style, including ability to work both independently, and as part of a team in a small office. • Two years of higher education and three years of office work experience strongly preferred. Experience in non-profit fundraising is beneficial, in addition to the required computer and clerical skills. Compensation and Application Information Salary is $35,000 or may be somewhat higher commensurate with experience. CCEE offers a group health plan, vacation benefits, and parking is provided.
