Hi...

I know this forum is for undergraduate schools, but I'm going to law school next year and I'm curious if ISI can suggest any law schools which promote Conservative or Libertarian principles.

Respectfully,

I just heard Richard Epstein from the University of Chicago Law School speak at my university (University of Kansas). I was very impressed--he bills himself as a "classical liberal." I think UofC has had some core libertarian leanings for several decades, though I don't know that for sure. Other than that, the University of Kansas, though not "conservative" or "libertarian" by any means, is one of the more balanced and respected schools in the region, with some stellar conservative profs and programs. That is where I'll be attending Law School starting next summer. We could always use more conservative students (nudge, nudge). Epstein is on the ISI Lecture Library if you'd like to hear him speak, or see his lecture at KU here: http://merlin.cc.ku.edu:8080/asxgen/dioplb/epstein.wmv

Hi Robert,

My first, best recommendation would be George Mason University School of Law. If you want more of a Christian atmosphere, try Pepperdine, Regent or Ave Maria School of Law.

Thank you both for the replies. I have applied to the University of Chicago already and I will look into those you recommended, Stephen. :-)

Robert,

Here's another thought if you haven't done so already. Contact some of the lawyers at these conservative/liberterian legal organizations such as Jay Sekulow at ACLJ, FIRE or Mat Staver at the Liberty Counsel to see if they have any insight for you.

Hope this helps,
