I think the same thing happens in reverse in America. Conservative is not a slur here. Liberal is a slur because it is constantly equated with socialism, communism, Marxism, and Leninism by conservatives.

The term "non-socialist liberal" is unheard of here. Try searching for the term on Google. All you find is that French non-socialists won an election.

Names are just names as your blog tries to point out. In the end, it comes down to opinions and perspectives--all of which can be dismissed by your contractors if they can label you with a slur.
