A colleague at my univeristy is teaching a course in American politics. He is on the Evangelical Christian Left and is assigning students to read Jim Wallis' "Why the Right is Wrong..." and Jimmy Carter's "Our Endangered Values". I recommended that he balance his required reading with something from the evangelical right. He agreed to my request, if I could find something academic written by a member of the evangelical right. I must admit, that I am ashamed to find all the decent academic books from a conservative position written by either libertarians or Catholics. Is there anybody out there, who could recommend something for his students to read in order to balance Wallis and Carter?
Sincerely,

Have you considered Vindicating the Founders: Race, Sex, Class, and Justice in the Origins of America by Thomas G. West? Dr. West is a professor of Politics at University of Dallas and a senior fellow of the Claremont Institute. His book just might "fit the bill."

I would recommend "Social Justice and the Christian Church" by Ronald H. Nash.
